Dr. Eric Van Boening was born and raised in North Platte, NE. He received his degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2015 and then chose to complete a one year post-graduate Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency in Chapel Hill, NC. During his career, Dr. Van Boening has worked in many areas of clinical dentistry including corporate owned dental practices, multiple privately owned dental practices, and even was contracted by the military to be an on base dentist for six months. These experiences allowed him to see patient care in many environments and helped create his vision for Signature Dental of Lawrence.
Early in his career, Dr. Van Boening discovered biomimetic dentistry. Biomimetic dentistry is the philosophy that aims to mimic the natural structure, function, and esthetics of healthy teeth. By using biomimetic materials and techniques, dentists can preserve more natural tooth structure, reduce the need for invasive procedures such as root canals and extractions, and create restorations that are durable, functional, and esthetically pleasing. Dr. Van Boening was so interested in this approach to saving teeth that he completed a 1-Year Mastership in Biomimetic Dentistry.
To say Dr. Van Boening is aways learning is an understatement. Each year he tries to complete around 300 hours of continuing education in various areas to continue to offer the best dentistry to his patients.
Here are a few of the courses he has attended:
His goal for Signature Dental of Lawrence is to deliver minimally invasive, high-quality, long-lasting esthetic treatment to help positively impact our patients’ health and quality of life.
